Having given you a brief overview on our hyaluronic acid ingredient, it is now time to introduce you to our second beauty secret: biopeptides.
Biopeptides are quickly becoming a very sought after product in the pharmaceutical industry as they work to stimulate many of the bodies’ natural, biological processes. It the simplest of terms, biopeptides work to tackle the aging of the skin.
To break down the very term ‘biopeptides’, a peptide is a molecular chain comprised of amino acids. Amino acids have an integral function within the body, to carry and store nutrients which help your body retain moisture and maintain a healthy circulatory system. The ‘bio’ element means that the molecules are very small which allows them to penetrate deep into the skin and stimulate the innermost cells. Biopeptides are thought to stimulate cell activity by interacting with molecules that can signal cells to produce more collagen. The production of collagen in the skin is vital as it improves the elasticity of the skin, therefore diminishing any visible signs of wrinkles.
This interaction with molecules can also be thought of as a dialogue. Peptides act as a messenger between the top-most layer of the skin and the layers deeper within the face. It is this communication that naturally breaks down as we age, and it is this breakdown in dialogue that causes your skin to visibly age.
Our Lecler masks have a high percentage of biopeptides, particularly in our pink ‘Anti-Aging’ package. So, if you are worried that your skin is starting to have a run-down, weathered appearance then this is the ingredient you should be looking out for.
